TALLAHASSEE — Residents can expect new momentum for girls and women’s soccer after World Cup and Olympic champion Crystal Dunn joined the ownership group of TLH Reckoning, the local pre-professional organization announced Wednesday.
The addition of Dunn, one of the most accomplished players in U.S. women’s soccer, is aimed at strengthening a planned youth-to-professional pathway centered in Tallahassee. According to the organization, her work with the club will include strategic advising, investor outreach, advocacy and help expanding long-term facilities and resources.
What changes for local players and families
TLH Reckoning operates a girls academy and fields teams in the USL W League and the Women’s Premier Soccer League. The group also maintains a partnership with two-time NWSL champion Gotham FC. Local families should expect the organization to press forward on building infrastructure and opportunities that aim to keep talented players in the region as they progress.
- Expanded coaching and development resources tied to a recognizable national figure.
- Potential investor interest and facility projects that could create new fields, training spaces or programs.
- Closer connections between Tallahassee youth soccer and professional environments through pathway planning.
TLH Reckoning founder and CEO Dr. Ashlee Fontes and Dunn previously worked together with the Washington Spirit organization, where Fontes served as a founding executive. That shared history is a stated foundation for the new partnership.
"I am so excited to join the Tallahassee Reckoning ownership group...Tallahassee Reckoning is more than a team. It is about creating a better future for female athletes and building systems that genuinely support girls and women at every level of the game," Dunn said in a release.
In 2025, TLH Reckoning reached the USL W League playoffs and ranked among the nation's top-scoring teams, the organization said. Dunn’s role is intended to help translate on-field success into a sustained local ecosystem that includes facilities, youth development and pathways to higher levels of the sport.

Officials with TLH Reckoning say Dunn will help with investor engagement and advocacy as part of a longer-term plan to expand the organization’s reach. For Tallahassee, that could mean more high-level training opportunities and a clearer route for local players to reach collegiate and professional ranks without leaving the region.
How quickly those changes happen will depend on fundraising, facility planning and program rollout. City and county youth-sports leaders, parents and local youth soccer clubs will likely watch closely as Reckoning refines its next steps.
