Fort Lauderdale travelers will see more nonstop options this year as JetBlue expands its schedule at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, the airline announced Monday.
The carrier is adding 11 new nonstop destinations and increasing frequency on existing routes, creating what JetBlue described as its largest schedule from the South Florida airport. The additions aim to give residents and visitors more direct choices for business, family and leisure travel across North America, the Caribbean and parts of South America.
Where you can fly nonstop
The new nonstop destinations announced by JetBlue are:
- Baltimore
- Charlotte
- Chicago
- Columbus
- Detroit
- Houston
- Indianapolis
- Nashville
- Ponce, Puerto Rico
- Barranquilla, Colombia (service scheduled for October)
- Cali, Colombia (service scheduled for October)
According to the airline, some domestic routes began operating in early July. Service to Barranquilla and Cali is set to start in October, while flights to Columbus and Indianapolis are expected to launch in November.
What changes for Fort Lauderdale residents
More nonstop flights mean shorter travel times and fewer connections for many common itineraries, which can reduce travel costs and inconvenience for local passengers. JetBlue said the expanded schedule will also increase the number of daily departures from Fort Lauderdale, helping to further establish the airport as one of the carrier’s larger operating bases.
"The expanded schedule reflects JetBlue's continued investment in South Florida and its long term commitment to serving the Fort Lauderdale market," the airline said in its announcement.
Air service growth can influence the local economy through increased airport activity, potential hiring and greater tourism draw. It may also affect ground transportation demand, parking usage and peak-hour traffic patterns around the airport.
Loyalty perks for some Spirit flyers
JetBlue is offering a limited-time status match for eligible Spirit Airlines Free Spirit Silver and Gold members. Qualifying travelers can receive comparable status in JetBlue's TrueBlue Mosaic program, which carries benefits such as priority boarding and other travel perks.
| Item | Timing/Notes |

Airport officials and passengers may see the effects immediately as daily departures increase and new origin-destination options open up. For Fort Lauderdale residents, the expansion represents both greater convenience and wider international connections without needing to travel to other South Florida airports.
JetBlue framed the announcement as part of a longer-term investment in the South Florida market and as a step to strengthen connections across the United States, the Caribbean and Latin America. Local travelers should check JetBlue's schedule and the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport website for the latest flight times and operational information.
