The 82nd Santa Clara County Fair will bring five days of family-oriented entertainment to the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds from Aug. 19 through Aug. 23, organizers announced. The event will feature food, carnival rides, animal exhibits and a program of recurring attractions that fairgoers have long expected.
What changes for residents
Fair officials say the Fairgrounds have undergone a period of revitalization over the past year. The Executive Director of the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds Management Corporation, Salene Duarte, told media the upgrades and program additions aim to make the grounds more welcoming and to broaden the range of activities available to local families.
The return of many crowd favorites means residents can expect:
- Pony rides, a petting zoo and camel rides for children;
- Livestock and agricultural competitions, plus home arts displays and educational demonstrations;
- Live entertainment including music and specialty shows such as The Reptile Show, Balloonacy, Puzzlemania and DJ performances;
- Interactive community events such as the 1Culture Art Battle and Freestyle Friday.
Community impact and traditions
Organizers emphasized that the fair is both a showcase of local culture and a place for long-standing traditions. The event will include competitive exhibitions that highlight agriculture and home arts, giving 4-H clubs, FFA chapters and amateur exhibitors an opportunity to display work and animals to the public.
Officials also noted the return of a classic black-and-white photo booth, which the announcement called a "cherished tradition" and a high-demand attraction. The public-facing revitalization efforts aim to support more events and create space for a wider range of community programming throughout the year.
“This past year, we’ve poured our hearts into revitalizing the Fairgrounds, and it’s been amazing to see so many new events and activities take shape—each one reflecting the rich diversity of our community,” said Salene Duarte, Executive Director.
Logistics and what to expect
The announcement listed a packed lineup of activities across five days but did not publish ticket prices, operational hours or detailed schedules. Residents planning to attend should check the Fairgrounds' official channels for updated schedules, vendor information and any guidance on parking or entry procedures.
