Top finishes at Ohio State secure spots at U.S. Amateur
The Ohio Golf Association, working with the United States Golf Association, held the U.S. Amateur Final Qualifying at the Ohio State University Golf Club (Scarlet) in Columbus on Wednesday. Thirteen players advanced from the field to the 2026 U.S. Amateur Championship, scheduled for Aug. 10–16 at Merion Golf Club and Philadelphia Country Club in Pennsylvania.
William Lisle of Hong Kong and Lorenzo Pinili of Rochester Hills, Michigan, shared medalist honors after posting rounds of 4-under 67. They were followed by a mix of domestic and international players who secured the remaining qualifying spots.

Several players missed advancing by a stroke or two. Alternates with scores at the cut included Daniel Stringfellow of Roselle, Ill., and Zachary Koerner of Laingsburg, Mich., each posting a 70. A broad group of competitors finished between 71 and 72 and did not qualify.
For Columbus-area golf, hosting final qualifying underscored the city’s role in national amateur golf and highlighted OSU’s Scarlet course as a venue capable of testing top-level amateur talent. Local fans now have a regional player to follow at the national championship next month.
