Residents in east Corona were shaken Friday morning after a police officer shot and killed a man who officers say had just attacked a woman with a rock and confronted arriving officers while armed with a knife.

Corona Police Department dispatchers received calls about an assault with a deadly weapon around 6:30 a.m. Friday, July 17, at a location in the 1200 block of East Parkridge Avenue. Callers reported a male suspect had struck a woman multiple times with a rock and was reportedly armed with a knife.
