COPPERAS COVE, Texas — A woman found shot to death early Thursday in Copperas Cove prompted a multi-agency search that ended with the suspect taken into custody in Killeen, authorities said.

At about 12:28 a.m. July 16, Copperas Cove police were called to the 700 block of Constitution Drive where officers discovered a 29-year-old woman with a gunshot wound. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
A witness identified the shooter as someone known to the victim and supplied a description of the suspect's vehicle. That information was shared with neighboring agencies, and officers with the Killeen Police Department subsequently located the vehicle and detained the suspect.
