Chamber launches new event to spotlight women leaders in Lubbock
The Lubbock Chamber of Commerce will hold its inaugural ChambHER Luncheon on Wednesday, Aug. 26, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the West Texas Home Builders Association. The event, presented by Geary Law, is scheduled to coincide with National Women’s Equality Day and aims to highlight women making an impact across the city and region.
Chamber leadership described the luncheon as both a celebration and a forum for sharing experiences across business, civic life and career stages. Organizers say the program will include a moderated panel of women leaders from Lubbock and an opportunity for attendees to network.
“Part of the Chamber’s mission is creating opportunities for our community to connect and learn from one another,” said Chambers. “This luncheon gives us the opportunity to celebrate women from all walks of life who are making a difference right here in Lubbock.”
Event sponsors and Chamber officials emphasize that the initiative is intended to be inclusive of women in diverse roles — from executive leadership to professions traditionally dominated by men, as well as those balancing careers and family responsibilities.
“Geary Law is honored to be the presenting sponsor of the ChambHER Luncheon,” said Elizabeth Geary. “The women who make up this panel represent the talent, leadership, and drive that exists within our community.”
Details and local stakes
For Lubbock and Lubbock County, the luncheon represents an effort by the Chamber to broaden professional connections and elevate underrepresented perspectives within the local economy. Public and private leaders who attend can use this kind of forum to strengthen networks, develop mentorship opportunities and spotlight workforce development needs.
