SPRINGVILLE — A man has been arrested after a stabbing early Saturday that left a 28-year-old man dead, Springville Police announced.
Officers responded to a report of a stabbing at about 3:15 a.m. At the scene they found the victim, a 28-year-old male, who had sustained stab wounds. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition and later died from his injuries, police said.
Suspect identified and charges
Investigators identified 23-year-old Jaxson Clift of Bluffdale as the suspect and took him into custody. He was booked on multiple charges, including aggravated murder, aggravated assault, obstruction of justice and criminal mischief, according to the Springville Police Department.

Police said the suspect and the victim were "recent acquaintances." Authorities did not release the victim’s name in their initial statement.
